Safe to assume you checked the rear main seal? You might have to pull the tranny to see it.

Get in there with a hammer and smack all those pinch welds flat. May solve your problems right there.

Complete Lift Kits You can find them online all over. The link above will show you a cheap kit and the complete OME kit. For $733, I would not hesitate to get the complete OME kit. I was able to fit 35" tires (with a few modifications and 4:56 gearing) and wheel all over God's green earth...

My first recommendation to anyone buying a 3.0 is to go ahead and do the head gaskets to be done with the issue. Most of these trucks are 25 to 30 years old at this point. If you are going to build a trail rig, build it right and don't take short cuts. "Quick fix" would be pointless on a "Build".

I know you don't want to spend a fortune, but the OME 2" kit is perfect for that thing and you will see a huge improvement over stock off road performance. The kit will include new front and back springs and shocks. I would add the ball joint spacers, diff drop and rear panhard drop bracket...

Best you can do for the engine is to eliminate every non-essential vacuum line in there. There are quite a few that can go (Google). Just do the head gaskets now and be done with it. After that, keep the engine tuned up. If you are keeping the IFS, get 2" ball joint spacers and a 2" Old Man...
