How long do the SPC arm upper ball joints last?

How long are the SPC upper control arm bushings supposed to last? My first set only lasted 7 or 8 months of mild driving. SPC warrantied them, painfully, and sent me 2 brand new upper control arms/UBJs. But I'm wondering how long these are actually gonna last.

New Airaid Intake tube coming soon

I run the Airaid intake tube with the stock air box and a Street Max muffler (sounds similar to a Magnaflow to me). I considered the deck plate mod but I drive constantly in dusty conditions so I didn't think I would drive with it open enough to warrant the effort. I'm happy with the set up...

    46&2's 99 5 Speed SR5

Recently mocked up my (4) Hella 500 off road lights. I mounted them using a tube bumper clamp light mount kit but as I suspected, once it got hot, the rubber sleeves would get squishy causing the lights to flop around. I need to call Yakima to try and get a key for the rack above my front...

3rd gen 4runner PCV Valve Replacement

Thanks for reminding me I need to do this. Good info.

Just bought this 2002 Limited and am pretty stoked on it

Nice find! I really like the two tone. Important sentiments have already been shared but I tell everyone who buys a third gen 4runner to just replace the LBJs. I am one of those people who knew it should be done but put it off. Luckily it wasn't catastrophic for me but it could have been. I...

Feedback for getting a high mileage 3rd gen

1 year ago I bought a 1999 5 speed runner for $5000. I lifted it, redid all the suspension and steering, fully tuned up the engine, added an ARB bumper and winch, lights, new tires and wheels, changed all the fluids, etc and I'm sitting around $10K invested total. That seems like an insane...

    Working out the Lift Bugs

I recently did a full suspension and steering overhaul. Added a lift. Replaced damn near everything in the front end and I had a random vibration/wander at 55-65 mph. I rechecked everything, double checked the alignment. Couldn't figure out what I was missing. Ended up having two wheels out of...

What other “cool” vehicles do you own or have owned?

Cool is subjective. But this pretty much everything I've owned the last 20 years. Minus a 1994 Honda Accord LX, 1987 Honda Prelude, and 1986 Toyota Corolla. None of which I have pictures of. Past: 1985 Celica Supra. Saved from cash for clunkers from the original owner. I regret selling it...

    46&2's 99 5 Speed SR5

Lots of fun! 4Runner did great. None of the Toyotas broke down, but a XJ had issues on the drive back to town.

    46&2's 99 5 Speed SR5

Went on a club run again recently with some tag along Jeeps exploring some trails I haven't been on in a long time. Mostly super light, 2WD. Occasional 4HI/4LO. Some perfect snow. Lots of mud. We made it almost the entire way to our destination but this massive tree that fell and...

    46&2's 99 5 Speed SR5

Thank you! Hell yeah! Appreciate it! I actually got out of the RC thing for a decade then over the pandemic dug them all out of storage and started messing with them again.

    46&2's 99 5 Speed SR5

I added an Airaid intake tube. No plans to deckplate or run a aftermarket filter. Just the Airaid and OEM air box/filter. Seems to work well with my aftermarket muffler. I like how it cleans up the engine bay and allows for easier access to the spark plugs and coils.

Thank you ARB for all the free hardware I didn't need for this install :D Love it!

    46&2's 99 5 Speed SR5

Finally got around to installing the ARB front bumper and Warn VR EVO 10 winch. So far I am impressed with the winch's overall quality and function, but I haven't gotten to field test it yet. Off with the stock bumper. No going back now.
