I am the original owner. No one touched my truck since out of warranty at 36K miles. Didn't find silver residue when draining coolant, which is before I replaced thermostat. Also did a block test right away, color is blue.

Replaced original thermostat with an OEM Toyota one. Also did a drain and refill of radiator with Toyota sslc coolant and washed overflow tank with distill water. Went to check coolant level today, found sliver color residue in coolant. Silver color is more obvious when put on paper, marked by...

I ended up cutting off a small piece of overlapping metal from the OEM full tank skid. Took about 5 mins with Dremel. The hard part was to decide to cut

Mine has the same problem of RCI transfer case cross member interferes with oem fuel tank skid. The bolt hole is misaligned by about 5mm

Received RCI skid plate set for 4th gen. The transmission skid plate doesn't have stiffener ribs as shown in YouTube video. Is this how the plate is now or I received a unfinished plate? Thanks

Replaced both breathers and cleaned oil residue. Drove in 4WD for 10 miles, didn't see new oil seeping out. Call it good for now.

Nice work. Agree with your assessment that RCI plate could work with OEM front skid. Probably just need to find two longer bolts to bolt RCI under the OEM skid. The OME front skid plate has two little hooks in the front, which prevent RCI plate going over.

Looking a plate that covers the gap between front bumper cover and front skid plate to protect radiator. Is there a plate that works with factory skid plate? CBI plate doesn't seem to work with factory skid. Thanks

Although the factory diagram shows smaller breather is for the center diff, the thin line traced to a box (ADD 75W-90) next to front diff. Front diff oil level is good now, a couple of mm below the fill hole. Didn't have to drain it. Is stuck breather the cause for gear oil leak?
