The 3rd Gen All Questions Allowed Thread

If a 3rd gen hits rev limiters and stalls in the forest trying to crawl harder than stock allows...does anyone hear it?...:hiding:

    Testing waters for Warn/Factor55 GB

Alright folks. I'm able to have real conversations with Warn reps and sponsors. I'm looking to see if there is community interest in group buys on Warn and or Factor 55 products? The discount will depend on serious buyers commitment obviously. IF you are SERIOUS. Please post items you're...

Is there community interest in purchasing manual hub studs?

Thanks man. They’re no game changer like your hood struts. But here I am turning the lathe

Is there community interest in purchasing manual hub studs?

Here are what my black oxide studs look like installed. I used black oxide lock washers I made as well. These are M8 black oxide studs with black oxide washers with m8 zinc plated nuts I started messing with doing as I have a few members asking about other hardware to build "complete hub...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Finally got around to doing poly urethane LCA bushings and Eimkeiths LCA reinforcement. Serviced the aisin hubs while I was at it. Rebooted the CVs too. Waiting for new coilovers with resi’s but their on an 8 week lead time. I’ll figure out if I really need a limit strap or not… I doubt it but...

Anyone running Fox 2.5 Extended front Coilovers? (FOX-883-02-023)

What ever shocks you buy find a shock tuner in your area. Set up testing days with them. Run test laps on terrain you’re mostly running. Have them assess your suspension. They tune it and run all day retesting your suspension to its dialed in. I’ve tuned non-T4R vehicles with Fox and they are...

Parts list for replacing stock suspension?

I’m not a fan of either brand you listed. KYB is decent oem shock replacement. For coils maybe try: 1999-2002 Toyota 4Runner Coil Spring (Left, Right, Rear) 48231-35200 | Ourisman Toyota of Richmond Online Parts They have the spring seat and shock listed in the “also purchased” section...

    Knuckle replacement

Also I did non-ADD conversion not ADD like most 3rd gens. So I can't compare bearing not torque specs. But I will tell you non-ADD wheel bearing nut torque spec is absurd at like 220ft/lbs. Our wheel bearings are no joke.

    Knuckle replacement

    You're correct.

    Knuckle replacement

I did a 2wd to 4wd conversion and pressed everything out of the knuckle (bearing races and all) no problem.

    Knuckle replacement

Tacomas would be a direct plug and play. 2wd 4runner or Tacoma would work but you’d need to press the wheel bearings, wheel assembly, etc and such out and transfer them from your 4wd to the 2wd. At that point might be worth putting in fresh wheel bearings if yours are original still.

Dropping my 4runner off for a paint job. Still undecided on what color!

Lets maybe see some non-3rd gen colors that are still factory on other Toyota/Lexus rigs... I'd like to open the discussion to Lexus Nori Green.
