Any interest in window up/ down / rear hatch pop wiring kits? Perfect for camping! It is for 4th gen but same principle would apply.

It also might be that the charger generates radio waves that interfere with the fob signal. Can you lock the door with the door switch? Also I would try to power up the charger inside the vehicle with an external battery pack and see if it still disables the locks.

I did this as well and the first night you will be impressed how much brighter. I would do this first. Cheap and does the job perfectly.
