Hopefully you have the benefit of having service records from your Dad but timing belt, spark plugs, fluids (brake, trans, coolant, PS) would be first on my list if they have not been done. Suspension components may need to be replaced but just have to inspect to see.

Funny I changed plugs a few weeks ago and used the same tool, agreed it makes removal of the connector easy. I also recommend using a torque wrench on the plugs. I found 4 of 8 plugs were loose, 3 of which loose enough to let combustion blow by as evidenced by the discoloration on the...

Lots of opinions on this but feel the pan is the best location for temp sensor (and always have done them there). IMO that's going to give you the best overall reading of what's going on. Of course it requires dropping the pan and welding in a bung so if you don't want to do that then 2nd...

Thanks! Pipe is welded but the tip is clamped on, it's just the factory one that was on the resonator. Ran a rod from the factory hanger to the pipe as well so it's supported.

Rerouted exhaust out the side, mainly to keep hot exhaust off bike rack/wheels but think it looks better too. No difference in sound so not sure what the resonator was doing. Used "tight fit" elbow from Jegs and just reused stock tip that was on the resonator. $25 and hour's worth of work...
