Toyota's shift logic engineer should be shot

I have owned 3 4Runners, an 04 V8 4wd, 14 v6 4wd and 17v6 4wd, al three acted as discribed on the highway in hilly country i.e. always hunting between 4th an5th and not wanting to shift back to 5th when they should. That said, not sure if new 4 Runners work like my wifes 19 Highlander v6 but...

5th gen quirks and difference between years

I owned a 2004 SR5 V/8 4wd, bought new in Denver, lived in the Springs until 2011 moved to Surprise Arizona and Sold it in in 2014. Bought a 2014 Sr5 4wd an owned it until 2019. Was retired all those years so driving was pretty much the same in both places. My opinion is the glass was not as...

Poll: How much is your scooped hood worth to you?

Did my white 2017 TEP with 3m matte black and it helped a bit, but did not stop the horrible glare or reflection, I could be wrong but I think the angle of the rear of the scoop is to blame.

    Cross-state break in

Sonoran Desert is absolutely correct on the proper way to break in a new rig no matter what brand it is, this is advise from some who is older than I car to admit, and have broken in 38 new vehicles of nearly all makes, never had an engine go bad, except in a new Vega which they were bad from...

Who's had both? KDSS and Non KDSS.

I have owned both, a 2014 4wd sr5 and a 2016 trail edition with kdss. The sr5 absolutely road smoother and leaned in corners more and had more nose dive when braking.

Hood Scoop Glare - Different Option?

Had my White 16 ORP done in 3M matte black on just the scoop ending at the windshield, It helped but did not cure the glare. I think the glare actually comes from the shaping of the bend at the rear of the scoop.

2019 Paint quality... is it just me?

I totally agree about the Toyota pearl being better having oned a White 2014 and a White 2016 4Runner and a 2017 Highlander Blizzard Pearl for approxamitely the same period of miles.

    KDSS more comfortable?

From personal experience ( had a 2014 SR5 Premium with bridgestones and a 2017 Trail Edition Premium with KDSS and bridgestones). Over the same routes and roads I always felt that the SR5 leaned a lot more in corners and was a lot smother ride than the TEP with KDSS. Possibly do to the sway bar...

A lil help... perfect alignment but pulls right

Check out the Lexus GX460 site. There are a number of folks on that site who have had to dial in a few more degrees of caster to one side, I don't remember if the added caster is to the driver side or the passenger side. You might check with the service dept at Sterling McCall Lexus in Houston...
