Definitely do another slip yoke greasing as already recommended. I had mine done twice in the first 3,000 miles since I bought it, and it wasn't until the second time that the "thump" went away.

You should install the DIY kit from Slyfox or the eBay version (easier but more expensive) if you have a '05+ V8. It will prevent your AIP failing and going into limp-home mode, or worse. There's basically no downside, but with the upside of proactively preventing an expensive repair.
