Should I get new Catalytic Converters? Need advice..

My 2 Cents worth I just picked my 4Runner yesterday from having the driver side Cat replaced (Timing belt and water pump as well). I had to do the passenger side last March, so I know those dreaded P0420 codes! The worst part is that (According to a tread on this site...) the traction control...

    Highest Mileage 4th Gen?

10 years young While 213,000 miles is a lot, it runs like a dream, no squeaks, grinds, or rattles. Seems to feel best at 82 mph while tacking about 2200 rpm. I bought it new and have to admit it's been nice not having a car payment for the past 4 years! I definitely have new car fever, but I...

Lineman, your points are well made and exactly what my wife and I agonized over last night. Although $4500 is already spent, so really instead of only 13K delta, more like 18k, plus shipping from Utah, and TT&L jacks it to about $22k out the door... My requirements are: 1) Body on Frame...

Better the devil you know Appreciate the input, but I've decided that I'd rather dump 2k into my truck that I know has been taken care of verses 20k for an unknown. I have to admit that a 2005 with only 25,000 miles is tempting, but it's still a 9 year old vehicle and I could end up needing...

A question to the forum: I am the original owner of a 2004 4Runer, Sport, V8, 4 wheel Drive with 210,000 miles. The vehicle has been perfect needing only Oil, Tires, Brakes, and timing belt/Water pump. Perfect until recently, So far this year I've had to replace passenger side Catalytic...
