    Vibration under hard acceleration

Upon further investigation, the issue is caused by the front driveshaft hitting the DT y-pipe due to insufficient clearance. More specifically, it's one of the zerk fittings that was touching the y-pipe at higher RPM. The temporary solution was to replace the zerk fitting by a bolt with a lower...

    Vibration under hard acceleration

I installed Doug Thorley long tube headers and y-pipe last week on my 2004 V8 4Runner. Since then, I can hear and feel a strong vibration under hard acceleration. It's not present when accelerating slowly or just cruising at a constant speed. This vibration definitely wasn't there prior to...

DT vs URD Y pipe. Which one?

I actually installed a Magnaflow Overland exhaust on my 4Runner just last week and don't have any exhaust drone, although it's louder than I expected. I didn't have any fitment or clearance issues either. However, I'm still on the OEM exhaust manifolds and y-pipe. I have a set of DT long tube...

    Clicking sound front driver side

Problem solved… Some of the lug nuts weren’t tightened to spec. Torqued them properly and the noise is gone. Not sure how that happened. The 3 other wheels were properly torqued.

    Clicking sound front driver side

It's possible... There's no loose in the wheel bearing and it spins smoothly. I didn't expect the Cardone HD CV axle to be as durable as OEM, but 3 weeks and under 200 miles of road driving would be very underwelming durability. How would I diagnose to figure out if it's either the wheel...

    Clicking sound front driver side

I noticed a clicking sound yesterday that appears to come from the front driver side. Initially, I touhght it was a screw or bolt that got stuck in one of my tires, since the frequency of the noise increases with the speed of the wheels and not the engine. I verified my tires and it's not the...

    Springs for Tacoma shocks

I just picked up brand new front and rear shocks from a 2021 Tacoma TRD off road (Bilstein 4600) that I plan to use on my 2004 SR5 V8 4Runner. However, they didn’t come with the front springs. I still have the original suspension on my 4Runner, so I would like to replace the old front and rear...

Need help with doing V8 exhaust from manifolds back!

Why did you pick the long tube headers instead of the short tubes? I was thinking of getting the short tubes and welding cats direrctly to them, either my original ones or the GSports. Also, you still don't have any check engine light or codes? If not, did you use any special trick to prevent...

    Light wheels suggestions

I'm looking to purchase a new set of wheels and tires in the spring. My 4Runner is currently stock. I'm looking to go slightly up in size and I would like to keep the impact on fuel consumption as low as possible. I don't do any serious off roading asides from the occassional dirt road to go...

    Camo green

Wow, looks good! What color was it initially? How did you prep the truck prior to applying the plasti dip? How many coats did you put?

Their front bumper is pretty sweet and the prices isn't outrageous... Unfortunately, I don't have the equipment nor the skills to weld it together!

    Volks & pizza cutters

Out of curiosity, why not run the BFG KO2 in the winter also? Both the Duratracs and KO2 are 3PMSF rated. The Duratracs are slightly narrower which should help in the snow, but the width difference is pretty small so I wouldn't expect a huge improvement...
