    Thinking about 4runner but...

Hi All, There's a high mileage 2000 4runner SR5 4WD that I was interested in but the miles scare me a bit. It has 210K miles but is the original owner . Car just passed smog. Here's the CL link: Toyota 4Runner SR5 - 2000 - Automatic 4WD -- Silver Grey Metallic What do you guys think?

    Skid plate removal question.

OK thanks, so from what it sounds it's not necessary to grind the hooks off. Sweet!

Thanks Sparky for the comparison pictures! Looks like plenty of room back there with the seats down. Kinda reminds me of the space I had in my old pathfinder.

    Skid plate removal question.

So I read the Oil change DIY and seems the initial removal of the skid plate can be a pain? If the front end is jacked up slightly will it facilitate the removal of the plate a little easier? Like allowing more room for it to swing down? I know to dremel off the hooks once it's off to make life...

I actually think the new forester has almost 9 more inches of leg room than the 4runner if that sounds crazy. At least that's what Edmunds states (32.9" for 4runner vs 41.7" for the forester). This doesn't really concern me much though, I think I might be swaying towards the 4runner due to...

Yeah, I usually buy used but buying new gives me peace of mind and I plan on keeping the truck for a long time if I do get it. Resale value, reliability, good looks are among the many positives this vehicle has!

Oh no doubt subies can hold their own, the car I recently sold was a WRX which was great but a bit small.

Hi rigtec, yeah I'm not a fan of those other crossovers, both looks and the reliability of the new pathfinder and explorer are horrible. Yeah I realize gas mileage is not a selling point or a deal breaker for me. But I agree the 4runner is the best lookign SUV IMO. In addition I don't like the...

Well to give a little background I used to own an R50 Pathfinder which was a great truck, body on frame. Yeah the ride was a bit jouncy and poor acceleration (it had the 3.3 v6 which was a slug) but I used to haul tons of stuff in that thing and when I went to Tahoe or gun range where it was 5...

Hello all, Don't post much here but about ready to bite the bullet on a '14 T4R. There were a couple other cars I had considered as competitors like the Forester XT and Outback. I don't go off-roading much but will make trips to tahoe and stuff and enjoy the room the car provides to carry my...

    New from Calif.

Hello everyone, new here from Bay Area,CA. Don't own a 4runner yet but I'm seriously considering a 5th Gen T4R. There have been a few alternatives that I've been looking at with 4 wheel drive such as the Outback, Xterra, Forester, highlander but none of them look as sweet as a 5th Gen. Currently...
