I bought the starter contact repair kit for my '97 4runner limited (automatic) but we ended up installing another starter. The kit has both contacts and all accessory items (washers, etc.). Bags are unopened. Part numbers are 28226-54340 (larger contact) and 28226-72010 (smaller contact)...
Seems right, consistent with what I learned. I checked the sticker on my starter, its part no 28100-62030, dealer looked it up, it's a 1.8 kilowatt, and I have an automatic. Hopefully it gets here by Friday, I actually have time this weekend!
yeah, I gave them the VIN (last 8 digits at least) and that's what prompted the two different types. Something tells me only a visual inspection of the starter will answer this question....
