Well you said you want a fast AWD car and then said you don't want either of the 2 main options that come to mind... If you don't want a STI or an EVO the only other thing I would consider is an R32.

Out of curiosity what tires are you running? The OE Turanzas have pretty good traction but they're noisy. I've been looking at the Turanza Serenity Plus and the Michelin MXV4.

That's awesome. If I didn't live in an apartment in the city (with 1 stinkin' space) I would have kept both. It was really hard to trade-in the 4Runner and I would love to still have it.

Well it was hard to do but I parted with the 4Runner. Living in the city and recently getting a much longer commute it was time to upgrade to a sedan with some more creature comforts. I'm definitely going to miss the 4Runner but I'm loving my new (first new car!) Legacy so far.

Mine does the same especially if the motor gets bogged down. Example: mashing the gas right after it's shifted up a gear.
