I'm not sure what brand you have, but I have a Kenwood Excelon DNX996XR. I have idatalink and connect my phone to the Kenwood via wireless Android Auto. It will randomly reboot and has been since new a few months ago. I see a lot of people posting that it is a firmware/software issue with Kenwood.

Got Rokblokz here on my '17 Limited. They are pretty good. Thin and easy to install. Only complaint from me it that the screws are not black. Imgur - My Rokblokz Pic

Did you figure this out? I am in the same situation and need to remove one of the clips to install the Shrockworks slider.
