    Transgo 340-hd2 install and reveiw

I looked at your build page, but I might have missed it.. what trans controller are you using? Just curious. Between the de-throttle on the shifts, and the ECU pulling timing under 4k RPMS regardless (not seeing knock), and of course I can only pull timing further with the POS splitsec...

Appreciate confirming my suspicion. It drives me nuts.. but it's going strong otherwise after what... 6 years now!?! sheesh... :bounce:

    Back in the 4runner Game

Same.. had a factory turbo (22ret) 1st gen years ago I did a lot of stuff too... and 3 tacomas.. and a bunch of fast car projects I took way too far... sold all that nonsense, bought an airplane and a 4runner :becky: ... might slap a turbo on the 4runner though, it's way too slow at my elevation

Had an 87 22RET w/ the digital dash. Stuck an intercooler through the hood and some other mods, 4th gen wheels, etc. When people hear an old 4runner with a whistling turbo on it, they tend to want to see what the deal is. Had a lot of positive attention given to that old truck...... 1st gens...

    Transgo 340-hd2 install and reveiw

So I just got off the phone with Trans Go. Asking about my issue with what feels like a throttle plate closure just after the 1-2 shift. I wanted to double check that I didn't install something improperly. He said no, he couldn't think of anything I could do to cause this issue.. and he also...

    The 3.4L TRD Supercharger Thread

High elevation will produce a little lower numbers.. but the difference between cylinders is what's most important anyway. Leak down testers are superior to a regular compression tester. They are not real expensive (50-70ish) on Amazon and such. Just a thought, but it will tell you more about...

    COB's 87 4Runner Turbo

Many years ago I had an 87 turbo 4runner. What a cool ride. Had the digital-ish dash. I did the intake, exhaust and put an intercooler stuck right through the hood on it. Along with a lot of gauges and other crap (bigger afm etc.) Had newer t4r wheels on it. That thing got a lot of attention. It...

Must've been speeding in her own driveway...

Well, my driveway is almost 1/2 mile long, as it is also my runway. And has trees beside it in places.. so one could techinally hit a tree, hauling pretty good butt down a long driveway like mine. I do love the effort put into the add though... looks like it was written by a 9 year old on a...

    Transgo 340-hd2 install and reveiw

Agree, the instructions suck and are lacking. And it would have taken very little extra effort to explain what your really doing, why your doing it.. what it does. I have been in a handful of valve bodies so I understand most of what I'm doing and why.. but the instructions suck. Kit is great...

    Transgo 340-hd2 install and reveiw

I just did the HD2 on mine a few days ago. Works great, as you said shifts are crisp, fast, like they should. No jerking, no banging....I mean it how this trans should have been setup stock! But with mine being an 02/DBW, there seems to be some kind of code in the ECU that partially shuts the...
