Capped off the rear heat to stop a slow coolant leak, sprayed underneath with fluid film, topped off the coolant obviously, greased the driveshaft, then washed it. I only drive this during the winter season, but it surprises me every time I use it, how well it drives for an 18 year old truck.

Since the 4runner is used mainly in the winter, probably a GX470 or FX45, also still have a soft spot for the old QX4, must be because our family has had a few in the past.

On lexus forums, the issue for intermittent vibrations ended up being bad axles, especially on the RX330-350s

Just a plain old stock 2000 4runner with 70k. If anyone is looking to sell their running boards for cheap (similar to the ones on there) PM me because these are starting to rust from the inside out

Grandparents bought a 2000 leftover in January 2001 as a winter car when someone totaled their QX4. Drove it 45k miles, then I got it in 2014. Now at 70k trying to keep the rust away.

Has anyone seen the cosmoline on Ebay, like 12 cans for $60 bucks? I'm wondering if thats a better option, even though I already used the fluid film. I know german cars, at least before, were shipped over with cosmoline on them for the same purpose of preventing rust.

Replaced the rear hatch struts with some cheap ones from ebay, fit kind of strange, but they work and the hatch doesn't smack me in the head anymore, so I'm happy

Had to replace a front aftermarket caliper, one of the pistons was sticking, and sprayed down the underneath with fluid film.

I fluid film it every year, it has definitely slowed the rust down.
