I've been thinking about trying to put a 5th gen steering wheel on one of our trucks, and doing some fairly simple circuitry to get the buttons working on an aftermarket radio. Will the steering shaft splines match? Are the clock springs interchangeable? Thanks in advance everyone!

OEM alternator brushes failed at 245K, starter still going strong, though I suspect that it's because most times I drive, it's 100mi+. I rebuilt the alternator at home, and it's been going great so far.

Hey there, at one point I remember seeing light bar brackets that mount to the doorjambs, not the roof. My neighbor had a pair on his 3rd gen, I think they had the Toyota logo with devil horns? Does anybody know who makes those brackets or where I could possibly get a pair?

I had the same problem in my 99 BMW M3, I rebuilt the entire wiring harness for the trunk with silicone jacketed wires- that kind of insulation doesn't crack or break, and is very resistant to burning. You could look at replacing the wires with silicone jacketed if you're worried about...

Nice setup! Sadly that was out of the question for me as I have a 4 channel amp and a ham radio under my driver's seat and the rear heater. I love how this ended up looking though.

I'm a massive nerd, so I used these rivet nuts from mcmaster as I had some on hand. I've always just used #8 or #10 stainless sheet metal screws and have never had a problem.
