    Check for mice!

    That’s correct.

    Check for mice!

I’ve had to do the wire mesh trick and it seems to have worked, at least there was no further evidence of mice. Despite my dealer denying it, I’m pretty sure just one cold night parked outside the garage led a group of mice to use my 4Runner as a hotel.

    GMRS range in actual use?

HTs are a compromise at best. That being said, better to have a decent radio that can take a 1/4 wave antenna (most are probably SMA these days, or Motorola MX threads are still used in a few modern radios) than a super expensive feature-laden radio with a tiny fixed antenna. I’d buy whatever...

Deal - Dewalt 1600 jumpstarter at Home Depot

Everything NoCo should be on Black Friday sale any day now. I’ve had a GB40 for a few years. I can get about 7 or 8 jumpstarts for a V6, or 2 to 3 starts for a vintage 350 SBC. I like it so much I bought one for my wife as well. If I could do it again, I’d buy a larger model “just in case”.

T4R buyer sought, not sure on the forum etiquette

I appreciate your honesty and asking before posting a formal ad. It looks like you’re in Upstate NY…you may want to call the folks at The 4x4 Center in South Burlington, VT. They may know someone who wants it or an employee may as well. When I hit the trails around here (northern VT/upstate...

    Ins/Registration with 2011 face-lift

Call your insurance company and ask. If they give you a hard time, switch to Hagerty. I’ve used them for years for modified classic cars and they don’t even second guess the declared value as long as you can prove it via photos and/or receipts. When I started with Hagerty, all they wanted was...

Can you help me figure out where this sound is coming from?

Exhaust heat shield vibrating? To me it’s definitely a metal-on-metal sound.

Which warranty plan do I have? Code is WPN

Title says it all; I’m wondering which plan I have. It’s been a few years since I bought the vehicle. Paperwork says “Plan Code WPN” and is probably for Platinum level, but it’s difficult to read the old paper.

Help! Windows, climate control, etc failure

And here we are months later with an update of sorts, and questions. The entire rear door assembly was replaced via insurance claim. The previously-blown fuses have not blown again. The only repairs consisted of cleaning and tightening ground connections. My air conditioner doesn’t seem to...

    Limited changes

My 2014 Limited has it, although relatively small. Perhaps the size of a business card.

    Limited changes

The grille-mounted/integrated front end sensor thingamajig got bigger as the year went on. 2014, it’s tiny and only an enthusiast may notice. By 2020 it nearly looked like a second license plate frame.

Fridge not cooling- need repair help

Is it possible to empty it and try a full defrost cycle, and clean it out while it’s empty? It sounds like an air circulation problem, possibly involving the fan as mentioned. Hopefully though it’s as simple as iced-up air passages. I’m not an expert, but I’ve been a homeowner for many years...

    Limited Edition Mod Thread

Correct; it seems to get larger with each year to be quite honest!

    Portable Jump Starters?

Wow, good to know! I got a GB40 when they were half off for Black Friday 2021. It can start my slow and ancient 350 SBC numerous times despite theoretically being able to only do it a of couple times…and then have enough power left over to be topped off in an hour. At the very least it’s peace...

    Rusted Tailgate Latch

I didn’t bother to try to save mine. I read somewhere that only two manufacturers make the assemblies, despite branding and price differences. So I went with the cheapest imported eBay latch assembly about six months ago and it’s been fine.
