I had the same problem with mine, and they were warped rotors.

You trade your Runner in for either one of those you will be hating yourself for it, I gaurantee it. Those two are near the end of their life expectancy, I wouldn't trade a Toyota Corolla with 100k miles for those two POS.

Sorry, more aggressive tires wouldn't have helped you there! Buried my tacoma the same way near a lakeshore several years back, chalk another one up for experience.

I had a 96' Tacoma that did that, never found out where it was coming from, but also never had any problems with it. Mine was loudest after I got home from work and turned the truck off, it was wierd.

I have a 99' runner and a 96' runner, they both do that. It's a known problem in late 90's 4runners.

There is a small white bushing in the spring, if it's come out. the clutch will squeak. It happened in my 99' tacoma.

It looks good until rocks start getting kicked up on the side panels and chipping your paint.

I would go with 265 75 R16's. You don't want rubbing, especially if you off-road.

I switched from 31" to 32" BFG's on my 99Tacoma manual tranny, noticed no diff in MPG, 33" + tires you may need to alter gear ratios.
