Sorry... The main takeaway was meant to be that there are, in fact, ways that you might reduce some (but far from all) of the inconvenience that this has caused. Mostly in the realm of pulling ALL of the posts one has made, identifying images, and the (maybe) updating the image information...

There are a couple of possibilities there (haven't researched): Does vBulletin have an API that would allow you to script a scraping of your posts to find/edit image urls? If not, is there a vBulletin Perl (or other) module that exists for more easily scraping the forum posts (I'm not seeing it...
