Replaced the 7.5amp fuse with the GM diode. Went from 13.6-13.8 to 14.3-14.4 on cold idle. Very happy. This will make my new AGM battery happy.
Thanks everyone!
Installing this diode will trick the computer into upping the voltage on the battery works in theory but by doing this doesn't this eliminate the fail safe and purpose of a fuse?
Fuses will pop if there is a spike in amperage, diodes are designed to flow electricity in one way only. Will this...
Excellent, do you have any posts explaining what this mod does? Does it just trick the system in upping the voltage using a capacitor? Not sure what the switch is for.
Thank you!
Interesting, you're saying they offer 2 different kinds at 2 different price points? I have a 2014 4Runner with almost 60k miles on it. Alternator only pushes out 13.6-.7v at idle or driving the vehicle. I read for AGM setups you want to get it above 14.
Power wise I use mainly LED lights...
When will the next group buy being going up? Just upgraded my battery to an AGM, need to upgrade the Alternator next as it's only pumping out 13.6-13.7V.
Thank you!
I noticed you do lose that outlet with that enclosure, at least it stills leaves open the port for the 12v house outlet.
Are there any other companies or people on the forums here that are selling enclosures for our vehicles?
Thank you very much!
Looking to upgrade my subwoofer right now which is currently a 10" in a boxed ported enclosure to the right side of my rear trunk area. The speaker doesn't have enough kick for me and it's just taking up too much space.
I'm looking to upgrade to a 12" subwoofer and have a side panel enclosure...
As far as installation between the Magnuson & URD kit goes. The replacing of the fuel pump adds a decent amount of more install time. My biggest concern is the
Advanced engine management using UCON Flex self tuning engine management system
Does this require a Dyno Tune?
Or is this...
Thank you for taking the time to respond, I will have to do quite a bit more research before I bite the bullet. I have VA state emissions here but they are not nearly as tight as SMOG from CA. For the money it sounds like you get a hell of a lot more in the URD kit but also appears to be much...
What exactly is included with the Magnuson kit? Is a fuel pump upgrade required? I'm guessing it comes with the intake manifold/fuel rail and injectors.
What are the average gains to the wheel with this kit?
I noticed the URD kit states
"Advanced engine management using UCON Flex self...
I wonder how reliable these engines will be if they are supercharged earlier on. I'm looking at possibly getting one for my 2014 4Runner. Currently has 50k miles on mine, I noticed there is another SC kit available with more hp/tq but that looks much more invasive. Replacing the fuel rail...
How is this kit stacking up to the Magnuson one? Anything this includes that the other one does not?
Is this kit directly plug and play? No other parts needed? Larger Injectors/Fuel pumps. ECUs etc etc.?
