I almost finished with my installation. The last part is the gobi ladder. I have an issue mounting the plate onto the top of the tailgate. I know its suppose to be 3-3/8" from the side of the car but i dont think my plate can lay flat without the bend near the end to smash right into the...

I'm curious if it was done wrong because the interior liner is somewhat loose and can be pulled open pretty easily.
