    1st Transmission Flush at 150K (!?!?!)

A drain and fill will only replace approx 4 or 5 quarts of fluid. You can do a flush yourself at home that will replace essentially all the fluid. do a search on here and at Yotatech.com... I've posted quite a few replies to DIY tranny flushes. I've done it to both my 4 Runners a couple of...

    Spark plug wire resistance

First of all, you should include your vehicle info with every post... better yet, post the specs of your vehicle in your signature so that it shows up with all your posts. Second, assuming you have a V6 3.0L, you are fine. Maximum resistance for all six sparkplug wires on that engine is 25...

    Help with Spark plugs Please!!!

I think the fact that they are platinum is more of a problem than the fact that there are four electrodes. I'm no sparkplug expert, but I've read that Bosch has acknowledged when using their Platinum plugs in engines with waste spark ignition systems (which the Toyota 3.4L has), there is a...

Oil residue on inside rear wheels/1998 4runner

Re: thanks for prevention note Yeah. I realize that. I don't do very many water crossings either (which is the main reason for extending breaters), but the breathers will get clogged anyways due to rust or dirt. It's best to extend them up to a clean area to keep them working properly, and...

    Stuck Caliper

I just rebuild my calipers if any of the pistons seize. The seizing is typically caused by rust pitting on the pistons themselves. Toyota sells the pistons, and they also sell the caliper seal kit. You'll save tons of money by rebuilding them yourself. Ensuring that you flush your brake...

    fluid change...need part numbers

Yes...Fill plugs also have crush washers.

    Brake wows continue for me

Calipers are rebuildable quite easily if you have a source of compressed air to remove the pistons. I had 3 seized pistons total on my '93 4Runner when I bought it. All of the seized pistons were pitted with rust. I bought the 3 pistons and the caliper seal kit from Toyota for approx $100...

    stuck and stripped

15/16" is 23.8mm, so essentially the same as 24mm, but all the bolts on our trucks are metric.

    stuck and stripped

One of the easiest ways to remove a rounded fill/drain plug is to weld a short bolt to it, then spin it off. Quite often, just the heat generated from the welding will be enough to "un-seize" it anyways.

    Help with Spark plugs Please!!!

Yeah, no need to change them if they still look new. But do yourself a favour and return those Bosch 4's anyways. when it comes time to replacing your plugs, buy dual ground Denso or NGK, as is recommended by Toyota.

    Warm start problem

I've already suggested that in your other thread. You shouldn't double post threads for the same problem, by the way.

    2nd generation transmission fluid question

Ron, See my posts in this thread at Yotatech on how to do a flush of your tranny at home. Your A340H transmission is a little different than the A340F that I flushed in the writeup, but it's essentially the same. Yours will have a second little oil pan below the transfer case that you can...

timing belt problem please help !

You can't bend the valves on the 3.0 by being out of time. That is a non-interference engine. If you can get the pistons to touch the valves, you have really big problems.

Oil residue on inside rear wheels/1998 4runner

To add to this thread, the main reason axle and pinion seals fail is because of clogged breathers that lead to pressure buildups in the axle. Extending your breathers to an area that doesn't see salt/mud/water will extend the life of your seals. Removing the breather altogether and replacing...

    leak under passenger side

Not true on my 2002 4R. Light only comes on when button is depressed. A/C runs when any defrost setting is selected with no light on the A/C button illuminated (again, unless the button is pushed.)
