    Light acceleration shudder

Just a follow up after a few years and a lot of added miles on the clock. Shudder is pretty much gone, don't notice it or have chosen to ignore it, but I'm not noticing it anymore after the full flush and change of transmission oil.

    Light acceleration shudder

I should have noted bought mine used with over 130K on the clock, but it was a California all highway vehicle.

    Light acceleration shudder

:lookout: Anybody have a different outcome? Just realized after revisiting this thread, that i'm not even noticing an issue anymore after several months of driving. Not sure if cause and effect, but hasn't come back.

How much did you pay? (2013) Let's see regional differences...

Forgot to put the year to my post above. 2006 SE, with 150k, for $9,150, mint condition.

    Need better MPG's

Yup, pretty much this (and the light bar as you found out makes a huge difference. Its also necessary to monitor and measure your driving habits. Just like an exercise and nutrition routine, you need to keep a hawk's eye on it to know if you're 'cheating' with snacks or just having one more...

    Light acceleration shudder

Posting this here, too. Just in case somebody is doing a search on different search terms. UPDATE: Transmission flush performed with 12 quarts (?) of World Standard automatic transmission fluid. RESULTS: The shudder is 98% gone. From the third to fourth (?) shift its 100% gone. It...

Shutter upon light acceleration / possibly in between gear changes

UPDATE: Transmission flush performed with 12 quarts (?) of World Standard automatic transmission fluid. RESULTS: The shudder is 98% gone. From the third to fourth (?) shift its 100% gone. :cheer2: It slightly shudders between 2nd and 3rd on slight uphills and if I'm not really pressing on...

    Oregonians... thinking of moving

Here is a good example. In Washington, DC, its perfectly acceptable to ask what a person does for a living, and I mean within the first three or four sentences - followed immediately by where do you live. With that information you can discern ball park salary range, status, social circles, and...

    Oregonians... thinking of moving

Just don't tell them you're from California, and you should be good to go. Tell them you're from Maine and I'll bet they'll love you. I was born and raised in Eastern Oregon, and I mean Eastern Oregon - not Pendleton which is really central Oregon. On the Oregon/Idaho border. I note this as...

    Light acceleration shudder

Same here, didn't know it was an issue when researching. That being said, my family has had several generations of 4Runners and they've all been rock solid. I don't think its a major issue, just an annoyance IMHO. What I've read is that one of three things happen. People 1) Replace torque...

Shutter upon light acceleration / possibly in between gear changes

Just got off the phone with Jack's Toyota of Alexandria, VA. They said they recommend a fluid exchange at 100,000 miles now. So that is new from what I've read of past recommendations. $350 for fluid exchange with WS transmission fluid. As others noted, its done with a computer to monitor...

Shutter upon light acceleration / possibly in between gear changes

Subscribing to thread. Just bought a used 4Runner that was serviced religiously at a Lexus dealership (woman's brother is a mechanic there). She said her issue started after they replaced the battery. :dunno: Anyway, it does it intermittently like others have noted. Interested to see if the...
