BumpX2 I wish mine was only a switch. My wipers free float. I lift them from the windshield and they move freely. Sorry to hack your thread, but any wiper experts still reading this? Greg

Thanks to everyone who posted/contributed. Here i am 2 years later and learning from this post! If you folks are still using those rims it would be great to see how they held up! My 97's (one set) is DESTROYED due to 5 years in PA, and the rest in WA. Do any of the steps listed fill pits in the rim?

decision time for me... I live in a county that doesn't require a catalytic converter, we don't have "smog" tests. I have a badly rusted (original? ) cat and bad muffler on my 97 3.4 L VA w/ 275 k on it. .Exhaust guy recommended no cat and perf. Muffler for $220 installed...

Resurecting this thread in hopes of it helping me. Had similar problem, replaced plugs (they needed it, as evidenced by what the old ones looked like) but didn't do the wires. Problem was 'solved' for a week or so, but now it's back to the same hesitation. I'm thinking new wires. Should i get...

275,xxx on my 97, but with horrible hesitation on acceleration. Replaced the plugs, got a little relief, but 3 weeks later... it's baaaack.

reviving older post, same issue, but replaced plugs and wires 2 years ago I have the same slipping, same approximate RPM's on my 97 4Runner. Currently have 275K on it. However, I had Plugs and Wires replaced about 2 years and 75K miles ago (can't find my folder full of receipts, so not sure...

Love this post! I have a 1997 that I'm about ready to start 'saving' (meaning... adding some nice parts, fixing rust, etc) I know a new vehicle is in the cards for me, but will keep this one for 'FUN'. Yours is GREAT inspiration! Thank you!
