It's the battle of the general usage wear and rubber bits.....and the rust. I'm doing alright on the first two, the last one, especially the sills, ugh. Wish I'd re-routed the front sunroof drains earlier than I did but I suspect it'd still have been a losing battle here in MO.

I use a 3' wrecking bar with a right angle on one end. Position tire about right, paying some attention to the holes for the lugs, get the angled end under the tire (little lean and gentle kicks), lower high end of the bar while guiding with the free hand. Not perfect, but better than me trying...

If it's of any use- Oil pan around 312,xxx miles since I'd pulled the front diff and it was right there right there. It'd been very oily along the block more on the left than right, and all over the wiring harness in the front of the pan. I did the rear main around 316,xxx miles while replacing...

I'm personally more rat rod than classic...nice to see you're still around. The 96 turns 30 in December, still my preferred grocery getter and daily driver. Valve cover gaskets are reasonable, especially given their age.

I picked up one of these at the junkyard for my 96, and made a flap similar to what you did (cut out barbs rather than zip ties, same end result...zips would have been easier...). Haven't come across a use for the pigtail yet, but if I do then there it is.
