    Front end clunk

No these seals are just in the hub to keep stuff out of the wheel bearings. Yeah I might pull off the sway bar tomorrow and see if it goes away but it has new endlinks and bushings so I am honestly thinking it’s not the issue.

    Front end clunk

I hit all of my bolts with PB Blaster for a few days before I did the ball joints to make sure they all came out ok and it seemed to do the trick. It’s the seal on the axle side of the hub where the axle slides into the hub. It seals the backside of the wheel bearing to keep dirt and road grime...

    Front end clunk

Replacing the whole arm is the way to go the uppers were super easy the lowers were a pain. Also I would be prepared to buy the seal for the inside of the hubs both mine were trashed. Toyota ones run $40 each the Napa ones are like $15. I may just bite the bullet and replace the xreas with...

    Front end clunk

I did the ball joints yesterday and I just did the joints because all the bushing were in good shape. The shocks and struts seem fine considering the mileage and they still have good rebound and dampening. They also aren’t leaking at all and that’s why I was thinking my clunk was ball joints...

    Front end clunk

Struts are the only thing I can think since I replaced all the ball joints if they were non xreas I would have replaced them. I am curious to see what others who xreas shocks and struts have to say about their life span.

    Front end clunk

I only get it going over bumps so I am pretty sure it’s not brakes.

    Front end clunk

Ok so my 05 Sport has a front end clunk I can’t seem to chase down I was pretty sure it was my ball joints cause they were pretty trashed however I replaced all 4 of them and no such luck. It’s also has new sway bar bushings and end links and new front axles. I am honestly thinking it’s the...

    Back in a 4Runner

Well after a long time away I am once again back in a 4Runner recently picked up an 05 Sport with a 4.7 with 198k miles. It’s going to be my tow rig since my truck was recently totaled. I have had it for about a week and tomorrow changing all the drivetrain fluids minus the transmission...

Newbie questions on OME Suspension Setup

I ran 884s with topout spacers and toytec superflex in the rear and like was mentioned before it was pretty stiff I kept about 150lbs of stuff in the back plus Rocky Road offroad sliders. As for ride yes the OME kit will make it ride like a truck not a lifted caddy like some people want. As...

Tell her the TSX is an overpriced underpowered Civic Wagon.

Rims and Leveling kit from Toytec etc.....

I ended up going with OME 884 and Superflex rear's. That pic was just with toytec topout spacers. Here is a link after the lift http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/76023-lift-installed.html

    Slow build, fast truck.

I completely agree the 3.4 is what 190hp so after about 5k in performance mods your going to add maybe 80hp so you will be right where the new 4Runners are at......not fast But to each is own I guess.

04 4Runner ticking under heavy accel

My 04 SR5 V6 had the same tick, did it from the time it was new until I traded it at 100k miles from what I remember reading is it is just an injector tick and my 03 Limited V8 had the same cracked manifold issue. I don't ever remember hearing about V6 manifolds cracking.
