    New Toy/Project: 99 LTD w/Elocker-Saved from Junkyard

Ok, I think its pretty popular among jeep guys. I went to CO for the first time this summer and wheeled some completely stock. There are so many trails out there, once you've been out there, its really hard to compare that to anything around here. I've never been to Webb City, but my friends...

    New Toy/Project: 99 LTD w/Elocker-Saved from Junkyard

Yes, he checks it daily while drinking his coffee. I gave $1500 with a full tank of gas. And IJM is one of my favorites, although Natural White may top it. This one was in an STL suburb, I generally only watch STL Craigslist because most local vehicles have usually been beat to absolute crap on...

    New Toy/Project: 99 LTD w/Elocker-Saved from Junkyard

Haha, definitely some luck. It helps my dad checks Craigslist daily and sends me anything he thinks might interest me, so that's how I found this one. I did have to haul it about 100 miles.

    New Toy/Project: 99 LTD w/Elocker-Saved from Junkyard

That is awesome! I think this is going to be the short term plan. I will fix the frame, do a little maintenance here and there, and then go ahead and license it and drive it while I park my 2000 and lift it over the winter. That way I can take as much time with the lift install as necessary, and...

Attempted Cat theft with cordless grinder

Couple of years ago I heard of a theft around here, they think they hopped a fence in a salvage and made off with over a dozen, but they thought it occurred at night. I'm not sure there is much you can do to keep from being a target of stupid criminals. Clearly they weren't that smart in the way...

    New Toy/Project: 99 LTD w/Elocker-Saved from Junkyard

Thanks! I plan to update this thread with whatever I do to it. Definitely first thing thing is getting the elocker functioning!

    265/70/r16 vs. 285/75/r16

235/85/16 are only 32" tall. So you lose an inch in height vs 255/85/16 or 285/75/16. I've heard that you are far more likely to scrape a rim with narrower tires like this, but have no experience with them.

    New Toy/Project: 99 LTD w/Elocker-Saved from Junkyard

When I test drove it, I tried to engage it in 4hi, and then since read that it has two safeties that are required to engage it: under 5mph speed, and in 4lo. I put it in 4lo and did slow figure 8's forward and backwards through the pasture last night but couldn't get it to engage. My theory is...

    New Toy/Project: 99 LTD w/Elocker-Saved from Junkyard

Picked this up the other day. 256k with elocker. I asked PO if he ever took it offroad. He said "I once went down a gravel road with it". He had owned it for 15 years. I asked him if he ever used the Elocker and pointed to the button. His response: "what is that? I've never touched it. What does...

Build your own Bandit Bumper - STEVENSVILLE MI

Maybe I missed it, but how exactly does your rear bumper design attach? Does the swingout change how it mounts any?

    New from MO

Congrats, I'm only 100 miles north of STL. The white looks really sharp, great color choice. I think it'll be a great vehicle for you. I'd recommend getting some new rubber before you hit any trails too hard, I bought a set of trail wheels with the Duellers on them and took it out to SW Colorado...

    What year to buy?

Since this was originally posted in 2011, I'm sure the OP has got the answers needed. But since someone pushed it to the top, I cant help but chime in. I started out in my 2000 Limited. First 4x4, although my dad had an old 22RE pickup. Man, it is so nice in every way. I really like leather...

    2000 Limited Factory Alarm Trouble...

I have found my issue. The following is what I did: Based on the diagram provided, I opened up the rear liftgate to access the backdoor ECU. Using the wiring diagram, I found the wire for the "back door unlock detection switch". I cut this wire, as I thought that by cutting the wire, the...

3rd Gen: 1997 5VZFE engine parts, NE Missouri

Sure, I would do $50 for the right side valve cover. Looks like shipping would be around $50 more though, :jaw: I'm not sure if that would make it feasible.
