No other lights stop working, no e locker, normal battery non AGM. I have a separate volt gauge and can also check it with the scangauge. My voltage seems perfect. I have a new alternator from Toyota I really don't have any other issues/anomalies with the vehicle other than the gauges

So do I. I think general electrical issues cause more typical and predictable symptoms. Our situation is so weird and complicated that I think the issue will be equally weird and complicated. Any other insights?

I replaced - gauge cluster, engine ecu, body ecu, abs ecu, and abs center sensor -- all to no avail Yes, definetely more often up hill/step on it a little I think it is something on the input side of the cluster like the tach data from the engine

I do have LED fogs that I added, but that was a while after the issue started happening. Yes, I changed body ECU with known working one and no change to issue at all. Will be doing combination meter tests tomorrow - however I am almost certain it is engine related because of how it happens...

I had no warning when my alt went out, but I understand the 5VZ alts have a lifespan of roughly 150k give or take 20k. Be sure to move the little sleeve out of the way on the top alt bolt - makes installing new alt a piece of cake!
