The V6 is very reliable and nothing to be worried about. As you do more searching on this forum you will see how many people recommend and love their V6.

OP, that price seems slightly high but not outrageous. If it were me (which I am looking as well) and they won't go any lower on the price then I would pass and keep looking.
How much did he get for trade-in that they are selling it for $26k?

But seriously, based just on the limited information, it is a good buy. Did you check Carfax and the Toyota Owners site?
It is tough to tell from the pictures but the rust doesn't look too bad, especially since it was just traded in and hadn't been cleaned up yet. I've seen far worse images of rust on 4th gens on this forum. Maybe someone on this forum is near the dealership and can inspect if for you.

After your last post about him not having any papers from just last February and him saying it isn't fast enough, I recommend passing on this one. There are too many red flags and too many unknowns.
You should definitely go for the V6.......................only because I also live in San Diego and looking for a V8 and I don't want the competition. :)
