OK. Last night after work, no leaks, no sputters, but the truck was warm, so I expected there wouldn't be. Stopped at the gas station and put in $10 worth, figuring if I needed to take the tank off the next day it would be best to have less gas. Got under the truck this morning and I could see...

I looked and the filter in the tank is the fuel pump filter. Apparently there is another filter located elsewhere. I think it may be located in the area of the leak. still strange that all my symptoms happen when the truck is cold though.

Ok, I took it for a drive just now. Still no leaking. BUT - the engine did sputter a few times while it was cold. After the engine warmed up, it was fine. Is it possible I am having a problem with my fuel filter? Where exactly is it located? Thanks

Wow, that link is AWESOME!! It is WAY better than the Chilton's guide I have. Is there a way to get that thing in book form? P.S. I actually want to buy the tools, the truck is 17 years old so I will need to get them. I think I need new axles in the rear end, any ideas?

Okay, I just got a quote from a mechanic, it will be a lot cheaper for me to just buy the tools and do it. All I can think of that I need are the intake gaskets, the hose and a torque wrench to torque everything down to spec. Anyone have any guidance for me? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks...

Well, Unfortunately, due to a lack of tools, I have to take it to the mechanic and have it done. Costly repair for a $7 piece of rubber. :(
