Thanks for the replies everyone! I've seen this debated elsewhere, but why do you think it is a waste of money? The way I see it, 5 tire rotation will end up about the same price in the long run but will increase the tread life overall by around 20%.

Thanks for the reply! Have you experienced any issues with the spare being hit by rocks/etc? It seems like the tire is not that much higher than the rear diff, but I know a bit of lift (which I am not planning on for a little while) would fix it.

Do you have to get the certification for the 5 watt handhelds?

They are on the more expensive end, but I have been happy with these: Amazon.com: Motorola T260TP Talkabout Radio, 3 Pack There are cheaper motorolas, but the build quality of the 260s are nice and they are just strong enough to make it up a hill or around a bend or two in the mountains.

I'm still working on my ideal arrangement, but an average amazon extinguisher + a cloth first aid kit do fit pretty well under there.

Is under the driver's/passenger's seat a particularly bad option?
