    Partznet Welcomes 4Runner Members!

I have a parts book for the '03 thru '05 4Runner. The rear bumper is the same P/N for all 3 models. This is the center portion of the rear bumper: 1> 2005 Cover Bumper w/Trailer Hitch (P) - P/N: 52159-35100, lists $76.47 in the book. (P) Paint to match. Paint codes: Black - 202 Blue - 8Q0...

Gas Milage And All Terrain Tires

Update: After over a week of routine driving, I have found the average mpg computer to have settled out around 14.4 mpg. Not as good as I had hoped. But, not as bad as it was at 12.7 mpg. Good call TeCKis300. I'm still wondering how I got over 19 mpg during my first little venture in town...

Gas Milage And All Terrain Tires

There's a very interesting discussion on the accuracy of speedometers and odometers over on CR4 (T4R, CR4. Don't get confused now.) The engineers get into the effect of tire pressure on the accuracy of speedometers. Since the mileage computer draws its data from the same place, it seemed...

    Took the 4runner swimming

Did the engine ever lock up when it was gulping agua? Did you get all of the water out of the intake and cylinders? Filter housing, lines, manifold. Gulping water is not always a tragedy for an engine. My first T4R was an '86 4 banger w EFI. I took it for a lake swim, fell into a hole and...

Gas Milage And All Terrain Tires

OK. I'll just keep tracking average mpg in my daily commute of 2 miles one way, together with sporatic supermarket and Wal Mart trips, and report back with longer term findings. It's already giving back a little. After one morning cold start, one afternoon cold start, and about 8 miles...

Gas Milage And All Terrain Tires

The thing that amazes me is the magnitude of the difference. It was slightly more than 7 mpg in this case. Now part of that could be explained away as due to the initial period of average mpg being longer than the second sample period, and thereby including a greater diversity of driving...

Gas Milage And All Terrain Tires

The ride was firmer. Not terribly so, but you could feel the difference on bumps and pot holes. However, it also felt more positive in steering and acceleration. Very noticeable. Being used to the lower pressure effect, I found myself over accelerating initially upon leaving the driveway. I like it!

Thanks. I know it seems a little anal, but I do that with every tank full and I keep it in a log book in the console. After I've run through a couple of tank fulls, I'll post the calculated results here.

Gas Milage And All Terrain Tires

Just thought I'd pass this along, since I have just discovered it. I've been feeling pretty miserable at the pump here in Michigan lately with these high fuel prices, especially since I'm still clinging to the >91 octane recommendation. When I first bought the 4R, I was getting 19 on the...

    Partznet Welcomes 4Runner Members!

I checked out the PartzNet site and was gratified to be able to look up almost any part for my '04 4Runner. Kudos to your organization for making discounted parts ordering available online! This is great. That is "almost any part." I noticed that the graphic for the '04 4Runner's fender flares...

    June 2007 T4ROTM - locknload

Congratulations, and a good looking 4Runner! Great job on the bumpers. Is that an '86? I looked, but I couldn't find the year posted. My first 4Runner was an '86 and of the four I've had, it was my favorite. It was white with the blue decal stripes.

    Windshield Washer Nozzle Adjustment

Thanks everyone. It's been too cold and windy here in Michigan to do anything with it so far. Perhaps tomorrow will be a good day.

    Windshield Washer Nozzle Adjustment

How did you clean the nozzles out? Toothbrush? Detergent flush? These flow like a garden hose without anything on the end to cause a spray.

    Windshield Washer Nozzle Adjustment

Does anyone have any experience with adjusting the windshield washer spray nozzles? I've heard that they can be adjusted by inserting a pin and moving the nozzle, but don't know if that is for all vehicles. Guess I could just try it, and probably will if I can find a pin. It seems as though...
