2wd spindles the same as 4wd spindles?

The rotors are not interchangeable. The 2wd rotors have the front hub bearings built into the rotors, hence the huge price difference. The 4wd f150 uses the CV axle but to set the hub bearing torque. The 2wds are a normal axle but torqued to set the hub bearing. If you swap the spindles, you...

    4Runner Transfer Case Doomsday!

Alright, well your best bet will be to remove the transfer case and inspect. Either way you’ll have to pull it as it’s not functioning. Keep your head up, stuff happens

    4Runner Transfer Case Doomsday!

I can’t say I’ve done the same job on a 4Runner but you didn’t miss anything when you reassembled the transfer case? You checked that the splines lined up properly before you tightened down the bolts?

Were side curtain airbags standard on 4th Gens?

2WDs have them as well. As previously stated, model year 08 and later have RSCA standard so they all have the button to turn them off.

    Looking for Trail Ed. “ashtray”

If I was home I’d take a better picture lol. Someone probably realized how much of more of a convenience it would be if they moved the switch to the cup holder area. Maybe they were trying to clean up the center dash area? I don’t think there’s a clear answer, however, it’s still around in the...

    Looking for Trail Ed. “ashtray”

I apologize for the bad picture but I had to use one on marketplace for reference as I’m out of country. The outline is there but it’s just a silver insert, for lack of a better term. My buddy has a 07 and he was in awe of how the window switch was at the bottom by the cup holders lmao

    Looking for Trail Ed. “ashtray”

Should be in all 09 model year runners. I have a 09 SR5 and it’s exactly like the picture. You can try looking at junk yards for that piece

JBA UCA post install thoughts - boot not fitting right?

Yeah, I think they need to update that boot design somehow instead of putting on a bandaid with the extra washer. That’s true, but if he adds it as an option for a extra charge then that’ll eliminate the issue of forcing the higher price for them all. Kinda like an option for a different...

JBA UCA post install thoughts - boot not fitting right?

I haven’t thought about that. I’m not sure if that will compromise the boot integrity or not, but honestly they should just use a snap ring to seat the boot when they ship it

    DRL mod

Alright, I have an 09 SR5 with no DRL from factory. I’ve heard of people swapping out the relay to enable them but I installed an Diode Dynamics Smart Tap relay since I’m running LEDs. I’d like to have some sort of DRL just for looks. My question is this: are there any mods you can do to enable...

    DM's G5-BRT Bi-Xenon Retrofit

I understand that, the color isn’t for everyone. I agree that the warmer temps are better for contrast but are still easy on the eyes as well. Yeah it’s not for everyone. Sometimes I wish I did something else but in the end I enjoy it. That would be great, although it’ll have to be forced...

    DM's G5-BRT Bi-Xenon Retrofit

No problem, I’m the same way too. I want to be sure of the mess I’m about to get into lol. I’ve seen some of the new morimoto M LEDs they put out and they look SO good. They’re just as bright as the D2S 5.0 if not brighter. Well considering the issues and everything else, it wasn’t too bad...

    DM's G5-BRT Bi-Xenon Retrofit

This thread is great, it has a ton of information! A retrofit is on my list but I’m about to be absent for more than a year so I can’t justify the money and time right now lol. I really like that projector setup, the cutoff lines and color are amazing. I like my projects to be perfect as well...

    Dreaded Crank not start

Sounds like an timing issue to me, especially with the starting fluid not starting it up. I doubt you’ll lose compression all of a sudden unless you’ve had a catastrophic failure

JBA UCA post install thoughts - boot not fitting right?

I gotcha. Mine has a tiny tiny gap where the grease will squeeze out but it’s better than the gap with one washer. The grease should keep most of the contaminants out of the joint. It bothers me too, but it can’t always be perfect lol
