I have a 99+ 4Runner console on order for my red Extra Cab Hilux. If I use the correct brackets and handbrake lever it should hopefully fit, too.

That's a great idea. Maybe it's possible to install the selector at the axle where both cables for right and left are connected together and have in the center console only a small remote cable lever for this. Anyone has pictures of how the two cables oft the twin handbrake mod connect to the axle?
