I run 30x9.50's everyday on the street. It rides well. It's a good match for the 4.30 gears and 22re. I also have bj spacers and 2" rear blocks. For the trail, however, I run 34x9.50s, no rub issues. If I were to have just a single tire size for street and trail, I would look at some 31's or...

I hope you continue to have great luck with yours. where did you get it from? Did you get it in short- or long-block form? 2300 miles isn't a lot. I'm curious how it's running at 12300 miles.

granted, you never specified a 22re, but this thread title is "reman 22re suggestions" and you stated it's a 4-banger from LCE. I don't know how I could have mis-understood that? As to the original poster...any remanufactured 22re for less that $1200 (short block) or $2500 (long block)...

You are freaking rediculous to think you could get even 13% of 1500HP on a 22re. Unless LCE is dropping in a Abrams tank turbine engine into your 4runner..... I can't believe you've got a SAS'd '87, 106 posts, and think anyone is running 1500 HP in a 4runner. Think about it...Dodge Viper...

It is fairly widely understood that you can run 33x10.50 with no rubbing, (BFG's may be your only option for this size) I run 34x9.50 with only the slightest rubbing on the pinch weld, so I flattened it.

I was using Valvoline MaxLife for about two years in my 22re (290K). Recently, I switched to Coastal 15w-40. It's 1/3 the price, and I think it does just as good. The 15w-40's have lots of detergents and additives like the high-milage oils.

I would say go with the 31's or 32x11.50's. 31's will run just fine.

So, what ratio did you decide you have? I've got a v6 diff with 4.10's for sale. PM me if your interested.

Just for comparison, I paid $300 for both a rear e-locker third member (1998 4runner), and a front IFS diff (1992 4runner).

I run 34x9.50's with 1" lift and no fender trimming.

225/75-15 is such a small tire. I would suggest at least getting a 235/75-15 (.5-inches taller) or better yet 30x9.5-15 (1.75-inches taller that stock) I've had 30x9.50s for 4 years now, and they were great with my 4.10 gears. Firestone Destination AT's have great performance specs on tirerack.

That's the one. Also, a tip for the lower ball joint, remove the four bolt that attach it to the knuckle, and allow the LCA to drop a bit (get the rotor and rotor-shield out of the way) and use a 3-jaw puller to get the ball joint stud out of its taper. I have never been successful using...
