I find the 3rd gen 4runner very easy to change the oil, I don't have to jack it up or get on ramps. If you turn your front wheels to the full left position and look threw the side skirt you get full access to the goods :wink2:

got my tire pressure set at 44, it is a little bit ruff but I'm used to a lot worst. 268k with original shocks.

I've checked my oil at ambient temperature and right after running for a while with the same results.

I'll take a picture of my dipstick tomorrow. 6.5qts of 5w-30 valvoline full synthetic and toyota filter.

I assumed the 3.4 took 5 qts. after 5 it was barely at the min line. at 6 it was close to the full, 6.5 was right at the full line for me. I check my oil every 300 miles, still at the full line.

as long as the leak isn't too bad don't sweat it. Remember the 4runner uses dextron 3 (transmission fluid) for the power steering. I'd take a pit stop after 20 miles to verify the transmission fluid isn't leaking too bad. If you don't have to top it off after 20 miles it should be ok for the 1...

:bigok: Toyota did a good job. They took a great midsized suv that's extremely durable and made it better.

If you want to off road ditch the running boards, your going to have to do something crazy to hit the rocker panels on a 4 runner. The running boards easily get damaged and do not provide much protection , I've herd of people damaging the rocker panels from the running boards buckling into them...

I rather place them in the headliner so they are shining down, seems like they blind you as much as provide light. OEM light works fine imo, my friend has two 30'' strips of high quality led's alone the rear sides of the headliner that are pretty cool.
