Trail Edition...those who upsize, did you replace the spare?

For a short period of time, it wouldn't do much harm. Besides, just make sure the smaller tire is up front, put it in 2wd and drive to the nearest garage. Problem solved.

    June 2010 T4ROTM - harper7

Do you plan to lift the rear? Because the current stance gives it a severe case of butt sag. No offense, but it doesn't look good at all unless you actually crank the rear a little. Then it will be badass.

5th Gen. Named 2010 4 Wheeler of the Year!

I received my issue of FourWheeler. What a crap test. They didn't even compare it to other SUVs, like they used to do in previous years. They just gave the title to the Toy. WTF? I didn't learn anything new about its capabilities, the issue where they tested it on the Rubicon covered all...

5th Gen. Named 2010 4 Wheeler of the Year!

That's a great thing to hear, because with each generation that passes, most SUVs become soccer-mom wuss mobiles. I felt like Toyota was headed that direction when the 4th gen came out (never was a fan, maybe I'm wrong, no offense here), but clearly, the 5th gen is the real deal.

5th Gen. Named 2010 4 Wheeler of the Year!

Here's the vid from when they first tested it. Both 4runners were stock, save for better tires and rock sliders, and both made it through the Rubicon, and then back to Toyota's headquarters 700 miles away. Great vid, but the music is awful (sounds like some drunk amateur playing with a cheap...

Can't wait to receive my issue, I'm a subscriber (and, hopefully, future Trail Edition owner).

    Can KDSS do this?

My 3rd gen did the same thing with sway bar discos. Just sayin'.

    Limited GPS

Hence why I never paid the premium prices most car companies demand for Nav systems when I can use my cheapo Tom Tom GPS while on the move.

GA dealer has bar bones 4cyl 5th Gen

Well, the body style could be a lot worse, but it looks like what it's supposed to look : a cheap SUV. 2.7l to carry around all that weight, and only offered with a slushbox and 2wd. Not much appeal...

Hardwiring A GPS Unit to your 4Runner

Hmmm... not sure of the way the 5th gen's dash is made, but I, for one, prefer to put my GPS on the left side of the cluster. No huge blind spot in the middle of the windshield, and wires are easier to conceal. In my Subaru, I hardwired mine using a piggyback fuse holder on top of another...

Test Drove a trail edition last night...

Yes. I am. And the MPG rating is different in Canada since we use imperial gallons.

    2011 Model Year

I read that Toyota would finally offer a manual tranny along with a turbo diesel engine. And then I woke up. :smashputer:

    What are these things?

Looks like a cover under which there could be a screw fastening the trim panel to the body.

Test Drove a trail edition last night...

Well, neither did the 3.4 yet it did feel quicker, hence my post. Huh? MPG is MPG, the only difference being the type of gallons used, here, as I discovered.

Test Drove a trail edition last night...

Mine does, but... You are right, imperial gallon... They still rate the truck at 25.5 mpg highway.
