Thanks for the replies. It's a base model I think, hand crank windows, no sunroof or inclinometer which is fine with me...I like the simplicity. The timing chain guides have been upgraded; one owner until passed to son upon death of father. Any advice as what to what else to look for is...

What is a 1987 4runner worth? 190K, 5spd, no rust, burns no oil, 22re, with records. Good tires, does have aftermarket rims, a/c clutch makes noise sometimes, drives well. Recently had shocks, axle seals, newer tires. I don't have any pictures yet but it look great.

2000 4Runner Limited 3.4L I think it was around 160k when I noticed it puking trans fluid from the overflow bottle so not exactly sure when it started. Flushed the cooling system and replaced radiator and hoses. Flushed the transmission a few times and drove it. I'm at 181k or so now...

I'm in for a 3rd gen. front bumper and possibly sliders.
