Thanks for the info, got any tips on how to get the unions off the transmission?
I have replacements, I'm just not sure how they are threaded on.
Is it just screwed in and then the nut is like a lock nut?
Thanks
I have new oem replacement hardlines and unions, I will see if I can remove my rusty cat, I probably should anyway as the previous owner welded the 02 sensor on and the gasket is disentigrated causing a leak.
Thanks
Hello,
I am looking for tips on replacing my transmission oil cooler lines, they are cracked and leaking a small amount of atf.
The lines nuts are seized on the lines and I'm assuming I'm going to have to cut the lines like I did for my power steering lines.
I tried a 17mm open end wrench and...
Sorry, I don't know how thick it is, mine was pretty rusted and had some chunks falling off it. If I had to guess mine was probably a millimeter thick at some parts where I had pinholes and could see into the diff.
When wire wheeling some of the chunks that fell off were plugging other holes...
Living in ontario canada we have pretty bad rust,
Almost the entire pumpkin on my rear diff is jb weld, had too many pinhole.
I cleaned it up really good with a wire wheel, wiped with acetone and jb welded the entire thing.
It's been a year now and no issues
Thanks for the help, but I did narrow it down to the wire on the fuel sending unit, the wires were put in backwards and not being retained on the clip.not sure how this came loose after doing the timing belt job.
I dropped tank and flipped the wires around and then realized I forgot to put the...
So I jumped it at the 2 pins which I beleive are correct according to the fsm, and got nothing. My fuel line is disconnected before the filter and I heard and saw no fuel come out
I did try jump my cheapo pump and it worked fine
Could my denso pump have failed or been faulty? Or maybe the...
Unfortunately I'm working alone, when it cranks it sounds normal.
I started it with starter fluid a few times to try get a code and couldn't get it to throw one(only ran for 2 seconds)
But it sounded good when it was running.
I'm going to jump the fuel pump with my battery as per the fsm...
The pics I have in my first post are from last night when I tore it down to check timing again, crank looked like it was off when peeking through the fan bracket.
When torn down it looks good.
The crank sensor is a brand new denso, it shows 165rpm when cranking
I am trying to replace my timing belt in my 1998 limited 3.4l.
The first time I put it back together I didn't realize i had to have the cr mark in the timing belt lined up with the notch on the crank key, also I crimped the cam position sensor in between the fan bracket, and the wires were...
Yes it cranks, engine is at 165rpm when cranking according to the obd2 reader
I crimped my cam position sensor and ended up buying a new one(ntk).
Also ruined my crank position sensor, broke in half trying to remove it. I replaced it with a denso one.
I am getting spark, I can start the truck...
