They dont normally crack. Check for loose bolts and blown out gaskets. easy of chancing parts depends wildly on mileage and how rusty the truck is

I spray both the NH oil and Fluid film. typically I brush off any dirt and hit it with a needler scaller if needed, usually just blow it off with air and spray it on thick. I do touch up yearly as they tend to wash off in the high spray areas. But good stuff!! will do wonders to hold off the...
