Wheel hub bearings or rotor problem?

Wheel bearing The dealer confirmed it was the bearing. Replaced the bearing assembly, hub assembly, o-ring, and seal. I did the passenger side in October with the help of friend and his press -- sure was cheaper! eliask08: Based on your similar symptoms, I'd say it's a wheel bearing.

Wheel hub bearings or rotor problem?

Fixed? Mind sharing what fixed it? I have the exact same symptoms, including the roar going away when I turn about 20 degrees. Thanks, Ian

    what rotors do you use?

I installed NAPA rotors with NAPA ceramic pads (premium). I've put 6000 miles on them and have had zero issues with strong, smooth braking. The OEM pads kept causing vibrations due to uneven pad material deposits -- if I cleaned the rotor with 3M wheel or a burnishing tool they were fine for a...

Please post pics of HID lights (low beams and/or fogs) in the OEM light reflectors

Just a data point for anyone looking to add HIDs to a pre-'06 (pre-projector t4r): I've had the DDM 4500k 35w low beam kit with harness on my 04 4runner for 40,000 miles now and have not been flashed ONCE. On the other hand, I've been flashed in my '08 BMW with factory OEM HIDs so much that I...

    Fuel Filter Replacement

Would you happen to have the part/kit number or a link? I looked under fuel kits and accessories; also searched but only found Walbro replacement pumps. Thanks! Ian

    Just regular tires?

I researched this last year and ordered the Michelin highway tire to complement the Blizzaks I run in winter. Unfortunately, I can't give a review or picks because the dealer installed Michelin AT tires...after a brief protest and a sizable discount I was driving away without the tire the wife...

Aftermarket radio on 04 Limited 4WD

Crutchfield has a nice tool for this to show compatibility. You can either call or use their website. I bought the PAC SWI gadget and it works great with my Kenwood deck and 2004 Sport. Car Selector

Best Bull Bar/Driving Lights (On a budget)

Thanks, that link did the trick. I like that it doesn't stick out too far in the front...on my list of things to get!

Best Bull Bar/Driving Lights (On a budget)

jtanner: What light bar is that in your avatar? It looks like it doesn't add bulk to the front, which I like. Any more pics? Thanks!

T4R vibrates when I press on the breaks

OP: The fact that you just did work on your suspension could be coincidental to your vibrations under braking, but it's likely that you have the fairly common "warped rotors." The OEM pads are notorious for causing brake vibrations by depositing uneven amounts of pad compound on the rotors...

    Are Wider wheels ok?

As mentioned, offset will be critical. I have 17 x 9" wheels with -12mm offset and they stick out about half an inch (and rubbed the fender a little before adjustments)...see the thread below for details...

Any Pics or suggestions of simple bumper guards (07 T4R SR5)

Really simple (and ugly) would be those adhesive bumper protectors: Amazon.com: Pacer Performance Products 25535 Protector Series Bumper Protector: Automotive You can also get ones that hide (kind of) the bumper guard in a front plate mount: Car Bumper Protection, Bumper Protector and Color...

    Coolant LOW again

I had my timing belt and pump changed 10k ago and my coolant is at the L mark (engine cool). I wouldn't have noticed, but my father-in-law said I left a spot in his driveway. Even after dropping the skid plate and idling for 10 minutes (with some elevated revs), I can't seem to find a leak...

    Regular vs premium fuel

Ditto. I'll add that I've never noticed engine ping either, which I can't say about my V8 Grand Cherokee that required at least 89 octane at sea level or it would ping like crazy under moderate load. Theoretically, the engine management computer should advance timing (long-term trim) with...
