I always wondered why you didn't have a build thread. Your truck looks awesome. Too bad you moved so far away. Wiring lights etc is one of the things I'm pretty comfortable with.
Would love to join you but life is a little too crazy right now. I still haven't had a chance to put my skid on yet and the weekends are all booked doing house stuff. The bug is getting to me though. Hope to join you guys on a day trip at some point.
I've gone in through copicut area as well. I like going in across from the Freetown fire dept but this is not a legal area. You have to go around a fence through some trees. There is a lot of trucks back there on the weekend. The fire roads are fine to be on but they get boring.
I don't drive mine to boston much in the summer months as I use my bike to get to work. (Not the sportster but the road glide). Starting to drive the truck more but only use the expressway on the way home which is after 6. Mine doesn't stick out much (yet) since the only visible mod is the...
I'm not much of a mechanic either. That is why I'm going to take it to have it finished. I've done what I could but am lost on centering the rear tire etc. I am looking forward to riding it after looking at ignoring the last 3 years.
It's an 89 sportster. Ive been working on it off and on the last 3 years. I am going to bring it to a bike shop in spencer in the next couple weeks. I want to make sure the brakes etc work correctly.
I've only gone by myself so have been scared to push it much. The trails are pretty narrow so lots of pinstripes. I have also seen the environmental police out there, luckily I was on one of the main trails. Seems like a lot of activity there on the weekends. I have a couple trails that I like...
Jim I see you are from Taunton. Have you tried anything in Freetown state forest. They aren't really legal but I haven't had any problems there yet. I currently can't do much wheeling since I ripped my skid off when I went to middletown.
This is after josh helped me bend my skid back. It...
Here's mine after a recent trip
It was completely folded over and facing forward like a plow. Was able to bend it back to the point you see it but it is no longer on the truck.
Yeah I've been saving up for some new skids, the stock ones didn't workout for me. I had to cut the old one off after going wheeling in middletown. I've been leaning toward the bud builts. Time will tell once I have some money together.
They look real nice and the pricing seems very good. Can't wait to see what you come up with on the 5th gen. I'm on the right coast but all the way up in mass.
