You'll get poor light output if you keep the '97 bowl and install the newer glass since the '97 bowl is a smooth finish. The newer headlights have reflective lines in the bowl that do the reflecting, instead of the glass like in the older models.
~21 MPG in my usual highway / city driving mix. 26 MPG cruising at 70 MPH A/C off. This is with stock 225/75/R15 tires, W59 5-Speed, 3RZ 2WD, stock ride height, just me in it.
May I ask what housing and lens you have on those turn signals? I have a '98 with the orange turn signals and I prefer the crystal clear lens with reflective housing.
