They had to lift the engine up a bit to replace the steering rack. I think newer Tundras are the same.

I did what? Think I had a weeping rear diff seal once and I replaced the steering rack. Other than that I'm at 190,000 km and still running fine.

Hitting a pothole at high speed, jumping a curb, etc. can all smoke your steering rack. At the same time there's always a possibility yours was just defective. The bad news is that it takes a couple days to have it replaced as they need to lift the engine a bit to get at the rack.

That's actually not right at all and could get someone killed. The shackle should have a WLL much higher than the break strength of your straps and winch line. That way your strap or line will break long before the shackle fails. It's just something you put between the two strap loops to keep...

Because you're going to want to air down on the trails. When you air down, the more sidewall you have the better. If it wasn't for the brakes being so big I bet a few of us would be running 16" wheels for that extra inch of sidewall.
