    2003 sr5 v8 4runner- Cincinnati

Congrats on the new kid! I'm in a similar situation; we're getting ready to have a second one and my 2nd gen is on the chopping block. Which part of Cincy you in?

Hey, I have wheels for sale. Here's the details: - Wheels aren't pretty, but they're round and straight. - Comes with tires (Dunlop Grandtreks). 1 has a slow leak, needs a refill about once every 3-4 weeks. Tires have an EASY 7,000 miles left on them. - Size is 16x7 with -5mm offset. - No...

    WTB: Clean 2nd Gen 4Runner

Oh man, that really sucks. That's one of my favorite colors too. I look for clean 2nd gens every day, but they all seem to be in the south. How far out from your location are you looking?

is this the best forum for older 4runners

You can thank 68jimmy for needlessly bumping 11 separate threads to get his post count up. He now has... wait for for... 12 posts.

Valves: How tight is too tight?

There is a hose that connects under the upper intake manifold, but I can't remember what it is. It'll hold the manifold in place pretty well just by itself.

Any chance you have any videos of that beast in action? Seriously, that looks like a good COMPLETE build.

3VZE Front Crank Sleeve Too Long?

Alrighty, we have success! But first, my pipe cutter idea was shot to shit this morning. I went to a couple of big box stores to look for a pipe cutter that would fit. Everything was just outside of my dimensions. Instead, I bought a glass cutter and a couple of pipe cutting blades. I had...

3VZE Front Crank Sleeve Too Long?

Oh man, if the engine was out, I'd just pull the plugs, line it up on a lathe and cut it. That would be ideal... aside from having the correctly sized sleeve from the beginning. :)

3VZE Front Crank Sleeve Too Long?

Indeed, I totally agree with you on a lot of what you've brought up. Unfortunately, here's what's going on with it: - The engine is still in my 4Runner. I don't even have the radiator out of it. - Metal shavings and heat were a concern for me, which is why I'm going to score the sleeve with...

3VZE Front Crank Sleeve Too Long?

The sleeve is about 1/8" over the edge. I'm slightly worried about the interference, but I'm much more concerned about putting everything back on and torquing it down. Don't want anything getting crushed and having a timing gear that doesn't sit flush to the crank. I thought about using a...

3VZE Front Crank Sleeve Too Long?

Correct, it will be cut "on the crank". I won't really be trimming just the edge off, I'm going to be going about 1/8" onto the snout.

3VZE Front Crank Sleeve Too Long?

I think i found a solution for it. I'm taking parts from a copper pipe cutter and assembling them to hinge on the cadmium plated stud hanging off the front of the engine. If I attach a pry bar to the assembly and use the stud as a pivot point, I can rotate the engine by hand while keeping...
