At a loss - what to do at this point?

Thanks for the advice. Maybe I'll do just that and at a minimum pull the plugs at some point and take a look.

The misfire is pretty consistent but worse/more noticeable once it hits running temp. I think according to the shops that took a look they did swap plugs and coil around.

Yeah, that's a pretty good point. I think I was just off put by the diagnosis of "engine replacement" for the last recommendation that I didn't even question 13k. Assuming it's a brand new motor.. not really sure on that one but that's a big hard no haha.

Thank you. If I have it in me I may give this a shot. I'm really confused with the timing of this. Being this wasn't an issue before the water pump failed.

That's not a bad suggestion. When the water pump failed I did drive it home. But I do so a few minutes at a time letting it cool down before moving for a few minutes again. The gauge was up but at no point did it overheat.

Right? I'm just not sure who to trust with it at this point. I'd also like to avoid continuing to pay for diagnosis to be told "eh" Was really hoping for option C, where it was something simple like a sensor or wiring causing something somewhere.. I like the vehicle and want to keep it if at...

At a loss - what to do at this point?

Long story short - vehicle ran SOLID before the water pump failed, I had no options but to do it myself at the time. So I took it apart to replace the water pump and timing belt. This is a 2007 with the 4.7 with just under 250k on it. Started it up, timing was apparently off by a tooth. Took...

Indicactor lights after timing belt replacement

Update, just in case this may help anyone in the future. So I had reinstalled the belt and then taken the pictures in the last post. Everything looks good, right? What I found is that at the next step, where the crank gets spun over twice, the belt on the crank ended up being off a tooth. I...

Indicactor lights after timing belt replacement

Alright, so I took it all back apart (fun stuff) and realigned the belt. Here's an image with the L and R cams spot on, and the notch on the crank now aligns with the dot/mark... https://imgur.com/a/JOhxEd6 Anyone able to sanity check this before I put things back together? and assure me...

    Help identifying part (v8)

Thanks. I was just digging through a video a few minutes ago and also ran into a section for the AC compressor that looked an awful lot like this as well - I'll check both when I dig back into it... oops.

Indicactor lights after timing belt replacement

Now that you say that.. yeah I'm guessing the pictures were taken before then. I installed the tensioner and pulled the pin. That's another good point. I'll probably have to replace the tensioner? as it had a one and done pin?

Thanks for video recommendation. I'll have to check that one out.

Indicactor lights after timing belt replacement

Well damn. Anyone have any idea if there's any form of shortcut to line it back up? Or am I looking at taking it all the way back apart? Thanks

Indicactor lights after timing belt replacement

Thanks again. Yeah, that sounds about right. Sorry to hear about the hassle with your vehicle - and agreed on something like failing on the first drive sounds a bit off. Going to continue to take it back apart as time allows and attempt to double check the cam sensor (not sure where that is...

Indicactor lights after timing belt replacement

Thank you both for the replies. Had the timing been right I 100% would have had someone else take a stab at this, but it wasn't an option at the time. Nice catch - typo with the one code, the last one is showing C1201 Engine Control System. The battery tested bad (it sat for a long time) so I...
