Thanks. I have a cheap belt tension tool, but I don't know how accurate it is. I was getting some slippage at high RPMs, so I'll tighten up the adjusting bracket on the alternator and we'll see what happens
Is there a belt tension spec for the SC belt using the static tension pulley/plate?
I searched the thread but seems like most folks are using the dynamic unit.
Dunno what part of SoCal you're in, but this dealer in SD always has clean, older toyota trucks.
You're gonna pay the SoCal toyota tax though, unsure what your budget is but maybe you could find a 4 banger for your kid's first set of wheels.
Best advice I can give is to get a 11-ish ft rod, lightweight reel & line (10# test is fine), and pick up some bloodworms at a bait shop (Pacific Coast bait & tackle up in Carlsbad usually has them).
carolina-rig the worms with a 1/2 oz egg weight and try to fish an incoming / out going tide...
The KO2's are rated for snow, though that's different than a dedicated snow tire.
Another option might be a good set of chains, which if we get to chain control R3 Cal Trans will make you carry/use anyway
Ok, before you go as far as swapping the ECU -
Swap the injectors/plugs on the problem cylinders with 2 good ones. Meaning swap 1 & 5 with say 2 & 4. See if the misfire follows. If it does, you got bad components. If not, the problem is elsewhere.
