I know it's an older post....but: I zip tied my mud flaps so they didn't hang so close to the tire. Stopped the rubbing. You can see in this video: https://youtu.be/ApZ1_K77zMc

I know this is an old thread. Posting this video for new people searching. Shows what I had to do to fit 285/70/17 KO2s on my 5th gen 4runner. 2016 Trail Edition. I basically just moved the front fender liner up and then zip tied the mud flap tight against the fender liner...
