    Crazy 2nd gen find

The 3.0 head gasket repair is not a hard job to do. The hardest part is the exhaust bolts since they snap or strip but that may not be a problem since you live down south and I live in salty NY. James

    Crazy 2nd gen find

I'm just letting you know the chances the head gasket will fail is pretty good. Do a search on here, Yotatech and TToRA about the head gasket. Recall is still good but if the dealer already did it then your SOL, you will have to pay to get it repaired. The 4Runner you see in my avatar had the...

    Crazy 2nd gen find

The head gasket is going to blow!!! Trust me it will!! Nice 4runner though. So you traded your 60 for a 2nd gen 4Runner? If so I think the dealer got the better deal from what I see. Good luck on your 4Runner but I think the 60 is/was bad-ass!! James

    Anyone see this before?

That truck BADLY needs a V8! If he had more mo-mo under the hood he would have gotten out. James

    95 3VZE Crossover Modification

I know all about the head issues and I have repaired them. I owned many Toyota trucks so I very familiar with them. The 3.4 has the same style crossover as well and they run fine. Very few issues with the 3.4 heads. James

    95 3VZE Crossover Modification

The exhaust crossover is not what causes head gasket failures so I do not know who told you that. You can do a dual exhaust but one major issue is the driver's side exhaust manifold is where the crossover pipe runs into. You would have to weld shut that opening and run a completely new exhaust...

Owner of a 3.0 & qualify for recall, need the veterns opinion please :) Newbie*

The HG recall is STILL in effect. I called corporate Toyota and they are still doing them. To the OP, if you search on Yotatech about this issue you will find that the dealership is replacing the engine with a new one IF the engine gets damaged caused by the head gasket failing. Do a search...

    2nd gen windsheild visor?

They are made by Lund. You can use one from a truck but you have to modify it because the sunroof is in the way. James

    Wabfab Lift

Do your research and you can do it cheaper. Use FJ80 rear coils and buy the BJ spacers for $100 at TRDparts4u. The coils you can find used all the time on Toyota sites same with the ball joint spacers. Do a search and you will find some very interesting info on FJ80 coils. James

STUPID 3.0 head gasket!! JUNK JUNK JUNK!!

Ok I called Toyota Motor Company and since the head gasket has been done once they will not warranty it again so whoever said they will is not true or since the dealerships are privately owned they may have covered it under their cost to keep a customer happy. James
